Quiet Rebellion

It's easy to see the pain, the anger, the darkness in the world. From large scale things like the devastating ruins of war, the catastrophic results of natural disasters, the complex suffering of things like sex-trafficking or poverty, to more intimately scaled anguish from domestic violence, self-harm, mental health struggles, loneliness, drug and alcohol abuse, and more, it seems pain is everywhere. The sorrow of the world can feel overwhelming and weigh down our hearts and spirits.

We can even feel guilt, questioning if we have a right to be happy when others are suffering so intensely. But consider this -

In truth, we're not being disloyal, unfeeling, or direspectful when we dare to be happy; we're bringing light into a world that desperately needs it. Of course, we want our hearts to be full of empathy and concern, but we can do that and spread brightness, too.
